Farm bureau Bank says it will no longer sell or rent industrial hemp for any purpose.

In a statement to The Huffington Polling, the bank said that it is working to create an “ecosystem of sustainability and economic opportunity” for farmers in the state.

“We are also continuing to actively engage in our program to increase our hemp cultivation capacity in the Southern California region,” it added.

The bank’s statement noted that it would continue to support industrial hemp research and research programs, but that it “will not be able to provide services or support for industrial hemp products or operations unless and until our compliance with state and federal laws is fully and transparently disclosed to the public.”
